Here at Firehose, we’re on a mission to reinvent online technical education to help more people change their lives. But if we’re going to change the lives of others, it’s essential that we continue to evolve ourselves.
That’s why we’re rolling out a brand new Firehose homepage. You’ll notice a cleaner, more visual design that better communicates what we do, what we value, and how we can help guide people to a software career. We’re very proud of the fresh new look, and we’re excited for a ton of other updates that we’ll be making to our experience moving forward. So, what exactly changed?
We redesigned the homepage to clearly communicate our three key principles:
- Transparency
With Firehose, what you see is what you get. We don’t believe in false promises, sketchy graduation rates, or misleading salary statistics. We’re committed to a culture of complete and unfailing transparency. That’s why we’ve listed our curriculum in detail, included images of what our agile team project sessions actually look like, and outlined a full range of outcomes that prospective students can explore to see if Firehose is right for them.
2. Community
The only way to learn how to code is by working with others in a team. That’s why we’re building an unmatched community of students and mentors to provide the best possible online education experience. We’re always trying to ignite more collaboration and foster an extremely supportive community. With the new homepage, you can observe our thriving, worldwide community in real time.
3. Forward-Thinking
We’re constantly reinventing and innovating ourselves to push our students to do work that will separate themselves from the pack and help turn them into in-demand developers. This includes our high-level approach to online learning, which focuses on a more guided path to help people reach their goals, and the specific curriculum that we teach. We’re passionate about learning new, real-world technologies, and we want our students to receive the most cutting edge education possible. That’s why we created a graphic that illustrates the difference between our way and the old way. And it’s why we’re showing prospective students all of the awesome technologies that they get with the Firehose program.
